Edith Kiser, 75, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

There will be a celebration of life for Edith M. Kiser on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at the Albert Lea Elks Club from 2 to 4 p.m. It will be preceded by a private family internment at Graceland Cemetery with the Rev. John Bromeland officiating. There will be a celebration of life at a later date in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Edith M. Kiser, age 75, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., formerly of Albert Lea died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth in Rochester, following a short illness with cancer.

Edith Marie Martin was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Mason City, Iowa. She grew up in Mason City and graduated from high school there. On Feb. 25, 1949, she married John Gilbert Kiser. They lived in Derby, Kan., Mason City, Iowa, Eau Claire, Wis., and Albert Lea. Edith later moved to New Smyrna Beach, Fla. She married Wm. Dunning in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., in 1989. They were later divorced.

Edith was a long time employee of Albert Lea Freezer Warehouse. She was an entrepreneur and co-founder of the &8220;QT&8221; Wig Company Inc. She also worked for several years as a travel agent for All Continents Travel of Albert Lea. Edith was a figure skater and co-founder of the Albert Lea Figure Skating Club. She was an avid golfer involved in golf leagues in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and also an active member of the New Smyrna Beach Garden Club.

Survivors include two sons, Gregory (Marilyn) Kiser of Rochester, and Ted Kiser of Texas. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Amanda of Rochester, Anthony of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Calvin, Texas. Her brother Jack (Dorothy) Martin, sister Helen Glaspy and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sister and brother.
