Shirley A. (McKallor) Heegard passed away on Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, in Minneapolis at the age of 79 years. The memorial service was held on Friday, Oct. 27, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Brooklyn Park with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating.

Shirley was a long time resident of Austin and most recently Owatonna.

Early in her life Shirley was a big band singer around the area. Later she was a wife and mother to seven children. She also worked at the Sheriff&8217;s Boy&8217;s Ranch of Mower County.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 58 years, Darrel &8220;Buck&8221; Heegard; children David (JoAnn), Mary (Charles) Distad, Nancy (Michael) Bowden, John, Joan (Michael) Jutson, Ann (Brian) Westberg, and Joseph (Myrna); 10 grandchildren; sisters Elaine Davis, Claire (Leo) Casey; brother, Jon (Jane) McKallor; also Buck&8217;s family: Jeanette Godtland of Albert Lea, Delores (Howard) Petersen of Nevis, Lois (Roger) Bailey of Glenville, and Marilyn Amerson of Rose Creek and many other relatives and friends.
