Big second half propels N-K to win, 41-32

MANLY &045; For a team that did not win a game all last season and just two in the previous four, the Northwood-Kensett girls&8217; basketball squad got the 2006-07 season off on the right foot.

N-K downed North Central 41-32 overcoming a two- point halftime deficit behind the deep range shooting of Rachel Madsen and the inside play of Kate Hartman.

Madsen led the Vikings with 19 points including three 3-pointers. Hartman added 14 points as the N-K outscored North central 23-12 after halftime.

North Central did not have a single player reach double figures in the game with Paige Walker leading the way with eight points.

The Vikings will try to get a two-game winning streak going when they face Lake Mills tonight in Northwood.
