The memorial service for Charles Douglas Guenther of Phoenix, Ariz., will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. Don Rose will officiate. Interment will be in Alden Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
Charles died Oct. 24, 2006, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was 47 years old.
Charles was born Oct. 30, 1958, in Albert Lea, to Douglas and Charlene (Manuel) Guenther. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Alden. He graduated from Woodbury High School in 1977. Charles lived in Woodbury for 14 years, then Dayton and St. Paul, and moved to Phoenix in 1988. From 1976 to 1981 Charles worked for Plastics Inc. in St. Paul. He worked as an auto mechanic in Emission Control. Charles was very active in the Boy Scouts. His interests included automobiles, building model cars and auto mechanics. He liked music, NASCAR Racing and was a
pit crew manager at a West Phoenix Race Track.
Charles is survived by two children: Jason Guenther of Prior Lake and Jamie Guenther of Phoenix, Ariz.; parents: Douglas and Charlene Guenther of Alden; sister: Renae Bryson of Hollister, Mo.; brother: Wade Guenther of Globe, Ariz.; sister: Michelle Olson of Hollister, Mo.; three grandchildren: Krysten Guenther of Phoenix, Ariz., Kateriana Guenther of Phoenix, Ariz., Karley Sue Guenther of Prior Lake: former wife, Wendy Guenther,of St. Paul; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Charles is preceded in death by grandparents, Art and Bunny Manuel, formerly of Springfield, Mo.; and Lincoln and Thelma Guenther, formerly of Alden.
