David Peterson, 64, Albert Lea

The memorial service for David Helmer Peterson, of St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home, Albert Lea, will be 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Lager-Hagemeister will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

David died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 64 years old.

David was born Feb. 5, 1941, in Albert Lea, to George and Laura (Grinolds) Peterson. He was a lifetime resident of Albert Lea and attended Albert Lea High School. David was a member of First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. He had worked for Weyerhaeuser Wood Products. He belonged to the union.

David enjoyed roller skating, doing sport activities at Academy Park, fishing, camping, setting pins at the bowling alley, black powder shooting and collecting baseball cards. David was a very friendly person with a great personality, who enjoyed being with people. He was very close to his nieces and nephews.

David is survived by three sisters and one brother: Betty Abben and her husband Leland of Albert Lea, Thomas Peterson of Albert Lea, Carol Gilderhus of Albert Lea and Kathryn Sue Pacovsky and her husband Gene of Albert Lea; uncle: Russell Grinolds and his wife Lorraine of Owatonna; many nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces.

David was preceded in death by his parents: George and Laura Peterson; sister: Barbara Armstrong; brother: George Peterson and his wife Murdy; brother-in-law: Larry Gilderhus.
