Donna Rae (Palmer) Barnes, age 66, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Oct. 28, 2006, at her residence in Phoenix, Ariz. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Holy Lutheran Church in Onida with the Rev. Brian Lemcke officiating.

Donna was born June 7, 1940, in Watertown to Vern and Ethel (Rivenes) Palmer. She moved to Onida in 1943 and graduated from Onida High School in 1958. She married Charles Stephens of Onida in 1959 and moved to Aberdeen where she had three sons and later moved to Minnesota where she had one daughter in 1964. She worked as a bartender at the Elks Lodge 813 in Albert Lea and retired in 1991. She married Kenneth Barnes, formerly of Harrold, in 1992 in Yuma, Ariz.

She is survived by her sons: Jeff Stephens of Berthoud, Colo., Craig Stephens of Watertown, S.D., and Mike Stephens of Ft. Collins, Colo.; daughter: Jodi Skellenger of Culver, Ore.; grandson: Jared Stephens of Loveland, Colo.; granddaughter: Jolene Stephens of Loveland, Colo.; step-grandson: Brandon Zarecky of Watertown; daughter-in-law: Julie Stephens of Watertown; niece: Amber (Shawn) O&8217;Brian of Lakeville, Minn.; step-daughter: Judy (Tony) Benson and Patty

Alvarez and step-son: Dean Barnes; seven step-grandchildren, all of El Cajon, Calif.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother; and nephew.
