Memorial services for Gertrude Sorensen, age 90, of New Richland, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be in the Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at Bayview.

Gertrude died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at the New Richland Care Center.

Gertrude Sorensen was born Dec. 2, 1915, to Frank and Helen (Hassing) Sipple in Albert Lea. She graduated from St. Theodore&8217;s Catholic School. Following graduation, Gertrude spent some time caring for a family in Wisconsin. On Feb. 6, 1945, she was married to Paul Sorensen at the Church of St. Theodore in Albert Lea. The couple farmed in Freeborn County for many years. Gertrude was a member of the &8220;Ever Faithful Club.&8221;

Survivors include her husband, Paul of New Richland; son, Steven and his wife, Sonja Sorensen of Wells; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Tammy Hughes; three sisters; and three brothers.
