Steve Falk knows his team&8217;s victories haven&8217;t come against the strongest Big Nine foes but they are important victories for a young team nonetheless.
The Albert Lea girls&8217; hockey team evened its record at 2-2 on the season with a dominating 7-0 win over Mankato East at home.
Marisa Cottrell scored the first of four first period goals for Albert Lea. Jenna Christensen, Sarah Jensen and Katie Nelson would tack on goals later in the period. Both Jensen and Cottrell would score in the second period and Morgan Walton added the final tally.
Albert Lea did not attack the offensive zone in the third.
It has been feast or famine for the Tigers so far this season outscoring their opponent 14-0 in the two victories and getting outscored 10-2 in the losses.
Albert Lea is back in action Thursday when it travels to Austin for a big conference battle with the Packers.
