Funeral services for G. Wilford Olson, age 89, formerly of the Mansfield area, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Mansfield Lutheran Church. The Rev. Don Rose will officiate. Interment will be in the Mansfield Township Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the Church.

Wilford died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

G. Wilford Olson was born Sept. 19, 1917, to August and Bertha (Schneider) Olson in Mansfield Township. He graduated from Kiester High School in 1935. On June 12, 1940, Wilford was united in marriage to Ruby Doppelhammer at the Bear Lake Lutheran Church. He was a lifelong resident of Freeborn County, a member of the Mansfield Lutheran Church his entire life, and a dedicated

farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby of Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center; children: David (Judy) Olson of Munising, Mich., Elaine (Douglas) Nelson of Emmons, Daryl Olson of Bayport, Kathryn (Ron) Rudebeck of Waverly, Iowa, and Bryan (Beth) Olson of Mankato; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Wilford was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Olson; sister, Gertrude Doppelhammer; and a grandson in infancy.
