Arline died on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

She was 92.

She was born on Jan. 20, 1914, in Duluth, the daughter of Otto and Hilma (Nelson) Lestor.

As a young woman she had worked for a government program during World War II and then as a secretary for Manpower.

She married Robert W. Dion on Sept. 4, 1937.

They were longtime residents of Crystal and then following Bob&8217;s retirement they summered in Glen, Minn., and wintered in Yuma, Ariz.

They made their home in Albert Lea in 1993.

Strong in her faith, she was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Arline enjoyed a simple life, didn&8217;t like others fussing over her, and was always appreciative of others. She baked, canned, sewed and made a loving home for her family.

Her keen sense of humor brings back many fond memories.

She is survived by three children: Janet Dare of Apple Valley, Cathy and her husband Mark Carter of Albert Lea, Bob Dion and his wife Rita of Dresser, Wis.; three grandsons: David Dion and his wife Carrie of Ogilvie, Daniel Dion of Eagan and Darren Carter and his wife Missy of Shoreview; great-granddaughters Grace and Victoria Dion; step grandchildren: Jim and Karen Dare, Lee and Linda Dare, William and Becky Dare, Susan and Tom Soderstrom and Farley Dare Jr.; and several step great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob in 1995; son-in-law Farley Dare in 2001; and three brothers: Stanley in infancy, Carl and Marvin Lestor.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church or Peace and Power.

Blessed be her memory.
