Astrid Hansen, 92, Albert Lea

Astrid J. Hansen of Albert Lea died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 92 years of age.

Memorial services will be held at a date to be announced in the spring. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea.

Astrid was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Norway, the daughter of Nels and Johanna Tangen. At a young age she moved to Albert Lea where she graduated from high school and attended business school. She was united in marriage to Arthur Hansen who precedes her in death.

Astrid was a member of the First Lutheran Church and was active in the sewing group. For many years she was employed by the Skinner Chamberlin Co. in Albert Lea.

Astrid enjoyed sewing, watching and feeding the birds and squirrels, making and giving charity packages to various groups, writing letters to family and friends and socializing.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Darrin and his wife Dawn Hansen of Graysville, Ala., Janelle and her husband Preston Sjoblom of Delray Beach, Fla.; one great-grandson, Ashton Sjoblom; one sister, Val Roggensack of Manly, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Astrid is preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur; son Roger Hansen, brother Thelmer Tangen; and sister Norma Lennoch.
