Marvin Williams, 76, La Junta, CO

Marvin D. Williams, of La Junta, Colo., passed away Dec. 17, 2006, at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. He was 76.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at Peacock Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Ron Skorick of the First Christian Church officiating.
He was born to Corda J. & Leona (Nible) Williams on Sept. 15, 1930, in Jefferson City, Mo. He married Beverly J. Thompson on Nov. 25, 1950, in Albert Lea.
Marvin was a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was past exalted ruler of his local Elks Lodge in Minnesota in the early &8216;70s. The family moved to La Junta, were he and his partner Lowel Seberson owned and operated the Capri Motel and Restaurant from 1973 to 1981. Marvin was a life member of La Junta Elks Lodge #701 and a longtime member of the La Junta Lions Club. Marvin also worked a short time at Big-R in La Junta.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of the La Junta home; daughter, Debra Sue (Darrell) Harrington of Smyrna, Tenn.; sons, Dave (Karen) Williams of Swink, Colo., and Dean Williams of Tempe, Ariz.; grandchildren, Stacy (Jerri) Harrell of Murfreesburo, Tenn., Jeremy (Tammy) Harrell of Mt. Eagle, Tenn., Cord Williams and Ashley Williams, both of Swink; great-grandchildren, Savanah & Braxton Harrell of Murfreesburo, and Destiny, Zachary and Aaliyah of Mt. Eagle; brothers, George Lee &8220;Buster&8221; (Carolyn) Williams of Springfield, Mo., and Jim Williams of Leon, Iowa.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Williams.
