Ronald Dennis Edwin, 63, Kirkwood

Ronald Dennis Edwin, 63, of Kirkwood, Ill. died on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at his home. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today at Hoover Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, Ill., with the Rev. Keith Killinger of the First Lutheran Church officiating.

Cremation will follow the service. Friends called on Tuesday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel , where his family was present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Ronald was born Sept. 27, 1943, in Albert Lea, the son of Nels and Blanche (Olson). He was reared and educated in Albert Lea. Ronald married Sharon Koehler on April 6, 1963, in Alden and she is still alive. He worked in the meat packing industry all of his working life starting with Wilson Foods in Albert Lea. He continued to work with Wilson foods until his retirement in 2001 from

Farmland Foods due to health concerns.

Ronald loved to play golf, and enjoyed fishing, hunting going to auctions, and collecting Railroad memorabilia. He also enjoyed show ponies.He was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Masonic A. Lincoln Lodge of Kirkwood.

His family includes his wife Sharon; two daughters Kim (Steve) Darrah of Lincoln, Ill., and Michele Davidson of Monmouth, Ill.; and one son Todd Edwin of Kirkwood, Ill. He also had five grandchildren Rachel, Darrah, Cody Edwin, Jordan Edwin, Blake Edwin and Dylan Fuller; and one brother Robert (Helen) Edwin of Albert Lea.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joyce Sterrenburg.
