WASECA &8212; There is something about the number seven and the Albert Lea girls&8217; hockey team. In the team&8217;s three victories it has scored seven goals each time and given up just one.

Tuesday night Waseca was the latest school to have a seven spot dropped on it in a 7-0 loss Tuesday.

The Tigers got a pair of first period goals with the first coming off the stick of Sophie Jepson with the assist going to Lauren Klick and Ashton Larson. Amy Gackstetter would make it 2-0 putting the puck past the goalie with an assist from Jenna Christensen.

&8220;We were working hard to put shots on net and we were aiming for corners more tonight rather than just shooting it right at the goalie,&8221; Albert Lea head coach Steve Falk said.

Albert Lea would strike for four more goals in the second period with Gackstetter getting her second, Madi Passingham recording two and Haley Habana getting one.

&8220;I was really glad to see Madi get going because it seemed like she had been snake bit a little so far,&8221; Falk said. &8220;We were aggressive going after the puck in front of the net and created a little interference in front of the goalie.&8221;

Jacqui Jepson recorded the lone goal in the third period for the Tigers.

Albert Lea outshot Waseca 51-6 in the game.

The Tigers (3-3) are back in action Thursday when they travel to face 5-0 Faribault.
