Anna died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2007 at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. She was 95 years old.
Anna was a very positive and encouraging person. She was generous with her time, her love and her finances and always willing to be of service to others. She was a Christian that truly walked out what she believed, and she was a wonderful wife and mother.
Anna was a simple woman. She was not active in church, she did not belong to clubs or organizations, she was not famous, but she had great faith. Anna spent much of her life praying for others. After 59 years of praying for her husband and loving him, he gave his heart to Jesus Christ. Even as her mind deteriorated she continued to thank God for all things. The last words she uttered before she died were, &8220;Thanks God! Thanks God!&8221;
Anna was born in Dallas, Wis., on Nov. 9 1911, to Gilbert and Antona Solie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Evert Haglund, and ten brothers and sisters, and her parents. She is survived by one sister, Gena Olson; her daughter Marlys Jentoft and her husband Kip; three grandchildren: Keith Jentoft and his wife Carla of Circle Pines, Minn., Kay Jentoft and her husband Mark Thompson of Austin, TX, and Karl Jentoft and his wife, Anna Herr of Washington, DC; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Anna resided in Albert Lea for 12 years and was a resident of St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home for the last five of those years.
Anna was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
