While they had some strong performances and finished first in six events, the Albert Lea boys&8217; swim team came up short against Big Nine rival Austin 96-81 Thursday in Albert Lea.

The 200 medley relay team of Matt Van Fossen, Chris Dorman, Ethan Marquardt, and Drew Klick finished almost a full three seconds ahead of the competition at 1:52.65.

Van Fossen would go on to place first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly while Marquardt and Dorman touched the wall first in the 500 free style and the 100 breast stroke respectively. A.L.&8217;s other first place finisher was Kevin Zogg in diving.
