ROCHESTER &8212; Albert Lea&8217;s Matt Van Fossen recorded his team&8217;s lone victory in the pool Thursday against a strong Rochester Century team, 96-73.

Van Fossen won the 100 freestyle in 53.50 beating Century&8217;s Mark Strom by nearly a second.

Van Fossen also recorded a third place showing in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:18.23.

Drew Klick took third in the 50 free coming to the wall in 25.79, and Chris Dorman was third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14.15.

The Tigers also had three third place finishes in relay events. Van Fossen, Dorman, Ethan Marquardt and Klick swam a 1:54.80 in the 200 medley relay. The same four swimmers were just six thousandths of a second behind second in the 200 free relay.

Chris Allison, Tyler Petersen, Evan Sturtz and Mitchell Jones finished in 4:18.80 to take third in the 400 freestyle relay.

The Tigers are back in action Tuesday when they face Northfield.
