The memorial service for Dr. Richard L. Roberts will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Dodge Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michelle Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center.

Dr. Roberts, 60, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.

Richard Lloyd Roberts was born March 14, 1946, in Brooklyn, Wis. to Lloyd J. and Esther (Goodman) Roberts. He attended grade school in Brooklyn and graduated from Oregon, Wis., High School in 1964. He received his doctor of chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic (St. Louis) in 1971, his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Missouri in 1974, and his M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas in 1992.

He opened his Dodge Center Chiropractic practice in November, 1975, and expanded to Blooming Prairie in 1981. He continued to practice in both towns until recently. He was a charter member of the Triton Booster Club, cooking burgers and making change at football games. He was Cub Master for Pack 45 and Committee Chairman for Troop 45 and led the United Methodist Youth Group for several years. His hobbies included renovating and restoring more than 75 homes in southeastern Minnesota providing decent, affordable housing for many people. Dr. Roberts married Margo Kelsey March 17, 1973, at the Danforth Chapel at the University of Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Margo Roberts, Dodge Center; son, David (Liliya) Roberts, Dodge Center; daughter, Kelsey Roberts, and grandson McEwen of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter, Zoe (Ryan) Kuster of Avon, Ind.; mother, Esther Roberts Mathews and brother, William G. (Jean) Roberts of Madison, Wis. He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Dodge Center United Methodist Church or to Seasons Hospice, Rochester or plant a tree.
