GRAND MEADOW &8212; It happened, fittingly enough, at the free throw line for Glenville-Emmons senior Jarrad Knutson. Knutson knocked down a free throw Tuesday night to break the

Wolverines&8217; all-time scoring record with the 1,300th point of his career in Grand Meadow.

Knutson broke the record previously held by Justin Davis at 1,299. It was the second big milestone he passed this season after recording his 1,000th point earlier on.

&8220;Jarrad is just an outstanding offensive player and a very talented player,&8221; G-E head coach Dan Fredrickson said. &8220;Everyone knew about it and it was getting followed. I am extremely proud of him because he has been playing with us since he was in eighth grade and he is one of my favorite players I have coached.

&8220;He broke the record at the free throw line which is nice because he goes to the line a lot. They stopped the game and gave him the game ball. It was a very classy move when we were on the road.&8221;

Unfortunately, things did not go as well for the team as G-E lost to Grand Meadow 53-38.

The Wolverines struggled in the first half scoring just 13 and went into the locker room trailing by seven.

Knutson led the team with 14 points &8212; giving hm 1,301 in his career &8212; while Josh Adams and Jake Kirsch each had six points apiece.

&8220;They kind of took away our No. 1 option and we struggled in the first half,&8221; Fredrickson said. &8220;We did play better scoring 25 points in the second half.&8221;

The Wolverines (1-4, 5-10) are back in action Friday when they host conference-leading Lanesboro.
