NEW RICHLAND &8212; The 10th-ranked New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva wrestling team downed Blooming Prairie in dual action Thursday, but lost all four duals at the Kasson-Mantorville Tournament Saturday.
The Panthers got pins from Clay Krueger, fourth-ranked Brandon Schlaak and Tim Bartness against Blooming Prairie, but also received five forfeits from the Awesome Blossoms.
NRHEG would win the dual 51-26.
The Panthers&8217; problem at Kasson-Mantorville stemmed largely from forfeits as NRHEG had to forfeit at least four weights in each dual.
NRHEG lost to Waseca (51-24), Wabasha-Kellogg (39-29), Glencoe (48-26) and Dover-Eyota (52-15) on the day.
&8220;Coming off a reasonably successful weekend at St. Clair (last weekend), this was by far the most disappointing three days of the 2006-07 season,&8221; NRHEG head coach Paul Cyr said. &8220;We had people who couldn&8217;t compete, wouldn&8217;t compete and didn&8217;t compete at various times through this stretch.
&8220;I&8217;m sure some of our future opponents can&8217;t wait to get a shot at us knowing that, more than likely, we&8217;ll not show up and wrestle with any intensity or emotion.&8221;
NRHEG is now 16-11 on the season.
