Patricia Janzen, 69, Hartland

Patricia &8220;Patty&8221; Pauline (Hendrickson) Janzen, daughter of the late Amos O. & Alvira (Paulson) Hendrickson of Hartland passed away on Jan. 10, 2007, of natural causes. Born on Jan. 19, 1937 in Albert Lea. Patricia was baptized and confirmed at the Hartland Lutheran Church. She graduated from New Richland High School in 1954 and directly attended Mankato State College to pursue a nursing degree. She began her career at the St. Peter State Hospital as a mental health technician.
Patricia married Raymond Koehne of Lismore on Nov. 9, 1956. Together, they had two children, Michael Amos and Richard Peter. The family resided in Hartland where Ray managed the Cargill Elevator until his untimely death due to cancer in October 1959.
Patricia met Gayle Norman Janzen of Trimont while attending college in Mankato, and they married on Aug. 24, 1960. Michael and Richard were adopted and they had three additional children, Gayle John &8220;Bud,&8221; Tamy Jo, and Matthew Gayle. Patty graduated from cosmetology school and Gayle with an engineering degree. They resided in Mankato for two years before the family moved to Rochester in late 1962, where Patty lived for the majority of her life. Even though she and Gayle divorced in 1973, Patty worked for many of her years, and she enjoyed being a homemaker and beautician the most. She loved music, laughter, lemon trees, azaleas and was a tremendous cook and seamstress.
Patty is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Koehne, parents Amos & Alvira Hendrickson, sister Linda Joyce Lewis, son Matthew Gayle, and granddaughter Kara Jo. Patricia is survived by her four children, Michael Janzen of Yucaipa, Calif., Richard & Sheila Janzen of Byron, Bud & Lynn Janzen of Rochester, Tamy Jo & Michael Goldfeder of Torrance, Calif.; her six grandchildren, Brandon Richard & Jaime Janzen of Oceanside, Calif., Laura Lynn Janzen of Minneapolis, Cody John Janzen of Rochester, Kain Michael Janzen of Yucaipa, Calif., Ethan Janzen of Big Lake, and Joshua Lobdell of Byron; her brother, Richard &8220;Dick&8221; Hendrickson & Joan Holtan of Rochester, sister, Ruth Ann & Ross Severtson of Hayward, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at The Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland on Friday at 11 a.m. with a reception following. A private family burial service is planned immediately after the reception.
Patty lived with a great passion for her family and her loving presence will be greatly missed. We will carry her spirit in our hearts forever.
