Robert Sharpe, 84, Glenville

Funeral services for Robert F. Sharpe, age 84 of Glenville, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at First Lutheran Church, Glenville. The Rev. Mark Wendland will officiate. Burial with military honors by the Freeborn County servicemen&8217;s organizations will be at First Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Robert died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007 at his home.

Robert Francis Sharpe was born on Sept. 5, 1922, in Minneapolis, the son of Joseph and Margaret (FitzHenry) Sharpe.

He attended St. Albert&8217;s Elementary and graduated from South High School in Minneapolis in June 1940.

Robert served his country in the U.S. Marines as a corporal during World War II. After his discharge he returned to Minneapolis where Robert was a painter/wallpaper hanger.

On Sept. 24, 1949, he was united in marriage to Luella May Jensen in Robbinsdale. The couple lived in Eden Prairie for 37 years and the past 14 years in the Albert Lea area.

Robert was a member of First Lutheran Church, the American

Legion Post 264, VFW Post 425 the Glenville Senior Citizens Center and the Painters Local #386.

Robert is survived by his wife Luella of Glenville; son, Robert and wife

Mary Sharpe of Spicer; daughters; Linda and husband Roger Boeckman of Shakopee, and Lisa and husband Loren Ward of St. Anthony; grandchildren Melanie and husband Gatlin Essary, Leah and husband Bob Meisch, Jason Sharpe and fiancee&8217; Amanda Scherzer, Jeremy Sharpe, Justin Sharpe, Bradon Shaffer, Michael Shaffer, Hannah Ward and Brian Ward; great-grandsons Wyatt and Nicholas Meisch; godchildren Barbara Denardo, Debbie Holmen, Connie Houg and Johnny Houg; siblings-in-law

Don and wife Carol Jensen, Gene and wife Shirley Jensen, Bob and wife Bev Jensen, Nancy and Harold Houg and Shirley and husband Mike Houg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, William;

sisters Jane Moats and Joan Rice; brothers-in-law

Mervin (Smokey) Moats and Clifford Rice.
