Wilbert H. Smith, age 80, of Faribault, died on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at the St. Lucas Care Center.
Services will be held at the St. Luke&8217;s Church, Faribault, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, with the Rev. Dr. Mark A. Noren officiating.
Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault, with veterans military rites provided by the Rice County Central Veteran&8217;s Association.
Visitation will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and also at the church one hour prior to services.
Wilbert H., the son of Elmer E. and Elda (Anderka) Smith, was born on Nov. 15, 1926, in Faribault.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He farmed in the Richland Township area.
He was also a Rice County milk tester and was formerly employed at McQuay&8217;s.
He is survived by his sister, Phyllis (and Gordon) Benesch of Albert Lea; two nieces, Janeen Benesch-Storlie of Shakopee and Jolene (and John) Berg of Emmons; three nephews, Kenneth (and Linda) Benesch of Corpus Christi, Texas, Keith (and Darlene) Benesch of Albert Lea and Kevin Benesch of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
