Albert Lea peewee hockey team takes a first and second at tournaments

The Albert Lea A peewee hockey team recently won the Redwood Falls Tournament and finished second at its own tournament.
In the Redwood Falls Tournament the team played well against St. Peter finishing in a 3-3 tie.
St. Peter took a 3-0 lead after one period, but Albert Lea&8217;s Eric Carlson scored off an assist from Thomas Furland in the second period and Levi Hacker added two more goals in the third to tie the game. Assists on Hacker&8217;s goals went to Tyler Osmundson, Nate Stadheim and Carlson.
Griffin Wangen picked up the win in goal.
In the next game, Albert Lea picked up a 4-0 win over St. Paul Edison.
Jared Hogstad, Larry Olson, Carlson and Hacker all had goals while David Enstad and Josh Martin added assists.
In the third game Albert Lea played a physical team from River Lakes.
Hacker scored the first goal and Enstad followed with another assisted by Hacker.
A.L. was up 2-0 before River Lakes scored three unanswered in the second period. However, Albert Lea would get the win 4-3 with goals from Carlson and Furland.
In the team&8217;s final game the Tigers took home the championship with a 7-3 win over Redwood Falls.
Getting goals for A.L. were Enstad, Adam Herbst, Hacker, Cody Haaland, Martin, Carlson and Auston Larsen. Assists went to Carlson, Hacker, Larson, Furland, Martin and Parker Thomson.
In the team&8217;s home tournament, the Tigers started strong downing Marshall 7-0.
Carlson recorded a hat trick with assists going to Furland, Larsen and Martin. Also scoring in the game were Hacker, Stadheim and Furland.
The Tigers picked up another win over a team from Omaha, Neb. 6-2.
Carlson had another hat trick, Enstad had a pair of goals and Stadheim added the other.
Albert Lea would drop the championship game to the Des Mones Jr. Bucs. The Tigers were downed 3-2.
Hacker scored the first goal and Enstad the second.
Albert Lea is now preparing for the district tournament in Worthington Feb. 17 and 18.
