Eva Hanson, 72, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Eva Mae Hanson, age 72, of Albert Lea will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Henriksen will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 15, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Eva died peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center, surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer&8217;s disease.
Eva Mae Hanson was born July 14, 1934, to Ernest W. and Iris L. (Baldridge) Attig in Shell Rock Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Bear Lake Lutheran Church. Eva graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1951. On July 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald J. Hanson at Trinity Lutheran Church. Eva was a lifelong resident of the Albert Lea area and had been employed at KATE Radio as a receptionist and copywriter. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Eva loved her bridge club, birthday club, and card clubs. She enjoyed dancing, camping, spending time outdoors with her family, motorcycling, and many bike trips.
Survivors include her husband, Donald of Albert Lea; children: Mick (Becky) Hanson of Albert Lea, Vickie (Kimm) Dilling of Ehrhardt, S.C., Greg (Kris) Hanson of Albert Lea, Kent (Patrice) Hanson of Forest City, Iowa, and Kurt (Denise) Hanson of Mason City, Iowa; grandchildren: Tracey Hanson, Jess Hanson, Chad Dilling, Milissa Kinard, Aaron Dilling, Lucas Hanson, Sophia Hanson, Megan Hanson, Kendra Hanson, Krysta Hanson, Tiffany Hanson, and Tanner Hanson; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Imogene) Attig and Lowell (Kathy) Attig, both of Twin Lakes; sister, Cheryl (Dennis) Lien of Albert Lea; and sister-in-law, Caroline Attig of Albert Lea.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lyle Attig; and sister, Carolyn Thompson.
