John Hubbard Sr., 66, Wells

John Patrick Hubbard Sr., age 66, of Wells, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in Walnut Lake Township, rural Wells.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate.
Interment will be in Walnut Lake Township Cemetery in Wells with military honors by the Wells Color Guard.
John was born Oct. 14, 1940, in Albert Lea; the son of John H. and Mary (Markey) Hubbard.
He was a lifelong resident of the Wells area, graduating from Wells High School in 1958.
He was active in boxing (Golden Gloves) and gymnastics.
From 1958 to 1962 he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He married Karen Johnson on June 10, 1966, in Wells.
He farmed and milked cows and enjoyed watching westerns.
John is survived by his wife:
Karen Hubbard of Wells; one daughter: Amy (husband Tom) Jones of Wells; two sons: John (wife Jen) Hubbard of Wells, and Nick (wife Amber) Hubbard of Wells; two grandchildren: Caleb and Kristen Hubbard of Wells; one brother: Edward of Albert Lea; and five sisters: Mary Jean (husband James) Hallum of Albert Lea, Betty (husband William) Kjarum of Mankato, Kathleen (husband David) Wentling of Reading, Pa., Sarah (husband Philip) Hatten of Brownsdale, and Margaret Ann (husband Ronald) Flynn of Bothell, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers in childhood.
