Patrol officer injured in accident

A Minnesota State Patrol vehicle was struck and a trooper slightly injured in an accident at 9:30 a.m. Monday, according to a report from the Rochester District Office.
Two state patrol units were assisting a tow truck to remove a vehicle in median near mile marker 16 on Interstate 35. The units were about a thousand feet apart with the second unit near the tow truck. All unit involved had their emergency lights activated. The state patrol report said the visibility was good and the roadway was icy.
A green Dodge Caravan driven by a 17-year-old female from Clear Lake, Iowa, was traveling north bound, lost control and rear-ended the second patrol unit.
The report stated Rochester Trooper Marcus Erickson was treated and released from Albert Lea
Medical Center. The van driver was belted, the airbags deployed, and she was also treated and released from Albert Lea Medical Center, the report added.
