Thelma Dahl, 92, Lake Mills, IA

Thelma S. Dahl, 92, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at the Lake Mills Care Center, where she had been a resident since June 2002.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lime Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills, Iowa, with the Rev. Karl Hermanson officiating. Burial will take place in Lime Creek Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 E. Main St. in Lake Mills, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Thelma Signe Borgina Honsey was born May 18, 1914, in Norway Township, Winnebago County, Iowa, the daughter of Oliver and Nelsine

(Stene) Honsey. Thelma was baptized, confirmed, and attended Lime Creek Christian Day School. She was a lifetime member of Lime Creek

Evangelical Lutheran Church.

On Dec. 17, 1934, Thelma was united in marriage with Bjarne Edwin Dahl at Thornton, Iowa. The couple farmed many years in the Northwood-Emmons area.

Thelma enjoyed horses, gardening, and flowers. For many years, she raised and sold strawberries, tomatoes, and cucumbers, and Thelma also mowed the lawn at Lime Creek Cemetery. Thelma and Bjarne loved to spend time fishing at their trailer in northern Minnesota, and they also enjoyed camping.

Thelma is survived by a daughter, Ruth (Eugene) Hermanson of Lake Mills, Iowa; a son, Allan (Jackie) Dahl of Joice, Iowa; five grandchildren, Rick Hermanson of Iowa City, Iowa, Karil (Bob) Anderson of Leland, Iowa, Shane (Dawn) Dahl of Clarks Grove, Jay (Erin) Dahl of Boone, Iowa, and Travis (Karen) Dahl of Sandy, Utah; eight great- grandchildren, Kelly (Ryan) Meislahn, Ryan Oudekerk, Dana Oudekerk, Sondra (Nicholas) Doty, Mindy (Craig) Smith, Ethan Dahl, Eli Dahl, Nikki Bell and Sarah Bell; four great-great-grandchildren, Drew Sorenson, Kimberly Meislahn, Isaiah Oudekerk and Riley Smith; a brother, Rudolph (Betty) Honsey; two sisters, Barbara Chrz and Naomi Dakken; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Honsey; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bjarne in 1995; granddaughter, Kimberly Oudekerk in 1983; great-great granddaughter, Jasmine Oudekerk; two brothers, Conrad Honsey and Joseph Honsey; and two brothers-in-law, Woodrow Chrz and Neville Dakken.
