Verna Mae Jacobson, age 81, of New Richland, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at Albert Lea Medical Center.

Born in Huntersville on Sept. 15, 1925, she was the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Koechel) Weckwerth. Verna married Edsell Jacobson on July 12, 1952. She worked at the New Richland telephone office and later at E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca. Verna had also worked as the general stores clerk at the Waseca Medical Center for several years. She enjoyed church, Bible study, traveling, and her grandchildren. She attended the Wesleyan Church in Waseca.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Jacobson of Albert Lea and Greg (Jan) Jacobson of Waseca; seven grandchildren, Robyn Jacobson of Albertville, Joshua (Katie) Jacobson of Stewartville, Jeremy (Brooke) Jacobson of Albert Lea, Zach Jacobson of Hartland, Kaleb Jacobson of Hartland, Tyler Jacobson of Albert Lea, and Alexa Jacobson of Albert Lea; one great grandchild, Wyatt Jacobson; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca today from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca with the Rev. Ron Brey officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
