Edward Lunning, 65, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Edward H. Lunning, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Zion Lutheran Church. Pastor Robert Bailey will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the services at the church.

Edward died Friday, March 9, 2007, at St. John’s Lutheran Home. He was 65.

Edward H. Lunning was born October 10, 1941, to Leslie O. and Evelyn Klatt Lunning in Blue Earth. Edward attended and graduated from the Frost High School and then worked for a trucking firm in Frost for a short time. He was united in marriage to Rhonda Gartzke in 1963. The couple moved to Albert Lea where Edward began working for Weyerhauser Paper Co. for 33 years as a foreman. On November 10, 1993, he married Ilene Johnson at Zion Lutheran Church. Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports, especially his sons playing football and baseball. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his sons: Todd and wife Lyssa Lunning, Mike and wife Heather Lunning and Bradley and wife Janene Lunning; six grandchildren, Ethan, Caleb, Noah, Jared, Matthew and Clare. Sisters, Marva Gullord and Julie Mangskau; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wives, Rhonda and Ilene.
