Funeral services for Frederick H. Bauers, 72, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Interment will be in Bear Lake Cemetery. Fred passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center, where he had been a resident since December.
Frederick Henry Bauers was born July 1, 1934, in Freeman Township to H. Fred and Ruby S. (McClung) Bauers. He was baptized and confirmed at Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church, rural Twin Lakes. Fred attended elementary school in Emmons, then District #45, and Emmons High School. He farmed with his parents near Twin Lakes and Conger and was employed at Streater Industries from March 1964 until his retirement. Fred married Dorothy M. Srsen on June 14, 1969, at First Lutheran Church. He had been a member of Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church before becoming a member of First Lutheran Church in 1969.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Albert Lea; sister, Joanne Evans and her husband, Gene of Albert Lea; niece, Sara Evans of Oakdale; nephew, Michael Evans and his wife, LeeAndra of Rochester; and great-niece, Ruby Jean Evans of Rochester. Fred is also survived by an uncle, Elton McClung and his wife, Novella of Foreman, Ark.; an aunt, Jean Ellis and her husband, Dan of Lake Jackson, Texas; and many cousins and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruby Bauers, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
