Lilly Burgess, 87, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Lilly M. Burgess, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Chaplain Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate.
Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the services at Bayview.
Lilly died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home. She was 87.
Lilly Mae Burgess was born September 5, 1919, to Albert and Birdie (Lumley) Hinz in Pleasant Prairie Township, Martin County. She grew up in the East Chain area and married Clifford Burgess in the late 1930s. The couple lived in Fairmont and Lilly worked at Whitefeather Hatchery and Stokley-VanKamp Processing Plant and baby-sat. She moved to Albert Lea in the 1960s and lived with her son and daughter-in-law for 10 years. While in Albert Lea, Lilly provided day care for several families and worked at the West Side Laundry. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, sewing, doing puzzles, gardening, and riding her bicycle.
Survivors include her children, Roger (Nancy) Burgess and Allan (Sharol) Burgess, all of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Larry (Rhonda) Burgess, Brenda Bergstrom, and Wayne Burgess; great-grandchildren, Jesse Burgess and Amber Bergstrom; sister, Laverna Nelson of Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.
Lilly was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; brother, Bill Hinz; and sisters, Marie Williams and Dotty (Donald) Sand.
