He spent his life farming on the family farm.

Carl &8220;the coach&8221; loved his sports, but he loved farming more. He was a member of the Freeborn County Softball Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife Virginia of Albert Lea; brothers: Palmer and Walter of Hartland and Roger of Connecticut; sister Edna (Marlin) Omoth of Spring Grove; brothers-in-law: Bruce and Lin Lindbeck, both of White Bear Lake; sister-in-law Teresa Hanson of Albert Lea, Margaret Hanson of Youngstown, N.Y., Doris Henderson of White Bear Lake, Lois Gfrerer of St. Paul, Harriet Brunjes of White Bear Lake, Margaret Sandberg of Brooklyn Center, Claire Smith of White Bear Lake, Janet Letourneau of Ramsey, and Ruth West of Woodbury; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Curtis and Arnold, and sisters Gladys Eben and Leona May Hanson in infancy.

Carl will be remembered by most as a real nice man &8212; and that’s a good thing.

Memorials are preferred to Cross of Glory Lutheran Church.
