The Minnesota State Patrol has changed its report again concerning the incident description of the two-vehicle wreck that occurred last Wednesday afternoon when a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu and a Northern Country Co-op semi collided at the intersection of West Main Street and U.S. Highway 69 in Albert Lea.
Early State Patrol reports the morning after the collision indicated the driver of the semi, 23-year-old Christopher Kauffman of Wells, ran a red light at the intersection, but later that same morning, reports stated the driver of the Malibu, Janelle Reule, ran a red light.
New reports updated at 8:34 a.m. Sunday state that Kauffman did, indeed, run the light.
Reule died Friday after remaining in critical condition for two days following the wreck.
