Robert Kaasa, 73, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Robert L. Kaasa, of Albert Lea, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church. Military honors will be accorded.

Robert died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home.

He was 73 years old.

Robert was born April 25, 1933, in Freeborn County to Alerd and Lillian (Neste) Kaasa. He attended Albert Lea High School. Robert married Louise &8220;Dolly&8221; Classon on Aug. 13, 1955, at First Lutheran Church. Robert served in the United States Army and took electronic engineering training. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Robert was a member of First Lutheran Church and had been an

usher. He worked for Johnnies Electronics of Albert Lea and Bissen TV & Appliance, Austin. Robert was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Moose Club. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by five children:

Ranae (Howard) Neese of Fulton, Ill., Scott Kaasa of Austin, Colleen Gabel of Albert Lea, Wyman (Robin) Kaasa of Albert Lea and Brian (Sue) Kaasa of Albert Lea; grandchildren:

Crystal (Ryan) Johnson of Albert Lea, Nicole (Adam) Hanson of Winona, Brooke and Brittany Kaasa of Savage, Quentin, Courtney, Brie and Kelly Kaasa of Albert Lea; great-granddaughter:

Albert Lea; brothers:

David Kaasa of Florida, Paul Kaasa of Austin; sisters:

Jeanne (Jim) Rushton of Austin, Patti (Danny) Tuttle of Twin Lakes;

brothers-in-law: Vernon (Harriet) Classon of Albert Lea, Lowell Kleven of Eden Prairie and many nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; wife Louise; parents-in-law:

Allen and Rose Classon; sister: Lillian Kleven, Marilyn (Lester) Schultz; granddaughter: Breanna Kaasa.
