Wolverines split a pair of games in New Richland

NEW RICHLAND &8212; The Glenville-Emmons baseball team split a pair of games at the New Richland Tournament over the weekend.

The Wolverines lost to DeLaSalle 11-1 in five innings before rebounding for the 13-3 win over Nicollet in five.

Against DeLaSalle, the Wolverines were held to just two hits and got their lone run when Logan Hansen scored in the first inning.

Ethan Weiss and Joe Williamson scored the Wolverines&8217; runs in the game.

The biggest problem for the Wolverines in the game were the 10 errors they committed in the field.

G-E rebounded in its next game scoring seven runs in the third inning on the way to the win.

Jon Mittag made his first varsity start going the distance while striking out seven and allowing two hits.

Isaiah Iverson had a pair of doubles and four RBIs in the game.

Hanson completed the day reaching the ball all eight times he came to the plate from the leadoff position.

The Wolverines are now 2-2 on the season as they played Hope Lutheran in Winona last night.
