Austin takes down Tigers

AUSTIN &8212; A combination of good hitting by Austin and five Albert Lea errors led to a 15-10 loss for the Tigers to their rivals Tuesday.

The Tigers&8217; Mitch Wenum allowed just three runs over the first four innings before he ran into trouble. The Packers scored five runs in the fifth and seven runs in the sixth.

Albert Lea did have 12 hits in the game getting a 3-for-5 night from Levi Langseth and two hits apiece from Jared Matson, Matt Friedman and Joel Eisenbraun. However, the Tigers could not keep up with Austin on the scoreboard.

The team&8217;s biggest inning came in the fifth when it scored six times. Adam Royce, Langseth, Matson and Friedman all had RBI base hits in the inning.

The Tigers are back in action Friday when they travel to Rochester to face Mayo.
