Ellertson to play at Augsburg

Cory Ellertson, who was part of the 2005 Albert Lea state hockey team, has committed to Augsburg College which is part of the NCAA Division III hockey league in the MIAC Division for the 2007-08 season.
Augsburg placed third in its division this year under the leadership of Chris Brown who was the MIAC Coach of the Year.
&8220;I know he is genuinely excited about being an important part of the further success of our hockey program,&8221; Brown said of Ellertson.
Ellertson has played two years of Junior hockey finishing with the Rochester Ice Hawks who were the MNJHL League and playoff champions which earned them a trip to the USA Hockey National Tournament held in Grand Rapids, Mich. with a total of 66 points on the season. He ended the year as the second leading scorer in the league. He was also named November MNJHL Player of the Month and a second team all-league forward.
At the end of the year banquet he was awarded the Iron Man and Offensive Player of the Year awards.
Ellertson plans to major in pre-law.
