HENDERSON &8212; A combination of 12 hits and numerous errors was too much for the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva softball team to overcome as it lost the first round sub-section game to LeCenter, 7-1.
LeCenter scored in five of the six innings it went to bat while Jasmine Brouwers scored the Panthers only run in the sixth inning.
Brouwers, Brittany Hansen, Abby Phillips and Sam Holvorson each had one hit apiece in the game to account for NRHEG&8217;s four hits in the game.
The Panthers concluded their season with a 4-16 mark overall and a 1-9 mark in the Gopher Conference.
St. Clair 6, G-E 4
LAKE CRYSTAL &8212; The Glenville-Emmons softball team jumped out to a 4-0 lead against St. Clair in its sub-section game, but a disastrous fourth inning proved to be too much to overcome.
Five walks and an error in the frame allowed St. Clair to go up 6-4 and win by the same margin.
G-E pitcher Lindsey Lorenzen struck out 11 and gave up just four hits, but she issued five of her six walks in the fifth frame.
Ashley Lau led G-E going 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, but the Wolverines left 12 runners on base.
G-E concluded its season with a 2-14 record.
