Levetta Converse, 91, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Levetta E. Converse, 91, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at First Lutheran Church of Glenville. The Rev. Gail Klavetter will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Levetta died on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home where she had been a resident for the last sixteen days. Levetta had previously lived at the home of her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Pat and Larry Hauge, of Glenville.

Levetta Evelyn Converse was born on Nov. 16, 1915, in Lewis, Wis., the daughter of Jay and Emma (Winehouse) Crandell. She grew up and attended school in the Lewis area. On Nov. 12, 1932, Levetta was married to Myron Henry Converse in Grantsburg, Wis. They lived in Lewis for a short time and then came to Albert Lea. Levetta was employed at Wilson&8217;s and at Land-O-Lakes. She was a former member of First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea, and a current member of First Lutheran Church of Glenville. Levetta enjoyed flower gardening, bingo, and loved kids, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Marilyn (Irvin) Martinson of Park Rapids, Bruce ( JoAnne) Converse of Park Rapids, Jane (Mervin) Nasby of Phoenix; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Levetta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Myron (Mike) Converse, her daughter Rosemary (Sis) Beckjorden, son-in-law Nathan (Nick) Beckjorden, sisters Iola, Alice, and Gertie, and brothers Ray, Roy, Harry, and Jake.
