Marion D. Schuenke, 81, of Faribault, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, at Immaculate Conception in Faribault with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan officiating.
Interment was held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault. Visitation was held at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services. Arrangements were completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault.
Marion Dolores Hunt, the daughter of Edward T. and Myrtle (Karow) Hunt, was born on Jan. 12, 1926, in Faribault. Marion attended catholic grade school and Faribault High School graduating with the class of 1944. On May 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Edgar Schuenke at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Mr. Schuenke preceded her in death on August 28, 2006. Marion was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and later US West in Faribault for 10 years and in Albert Lea for 25 years until her early retirement in 1979 because the office closed in Albert Lea. They moved back to Faribault so they could help with their parents.
Marion was a member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Church CCW, was a 55 year member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a member of the Faribault Area Senior Citizens Organization. Marion was a volunteer at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home and also with the Heritage Club at the State Bank of Faribault.
She is survived by three sons, James (and Judi) Schuenke of Northfield, Edward (and Maxine) Schuenke and Thomas (and Shelley) Schuenke, both of Bloomington; by seven grandchildren; by two brothers, Ralph &8220;Barney&8221; (and Phyliss) Hunt and Gordon Hunt, both of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Eugene and Howard Hunt, one sister in law, Eileen Hunt and one nephew, David Hunt.
