Construction on U.S. Highway 218 is expected to begin today. The construction zone stretches from just north of Saint Ansgar, Iowa, to the Minnesota state line.
This project includes full-lane-width patching and slurry seal in the wheel paths. The patching will begin next week and take one week to complete. Slurry seal will not begin until mid-July and expected to last one week.
When construction work is being performed on the roadway, pilot cars and flaggers will be used to maintain traffic.
Short-term delays can be anticipated while traveling through this construction area. All items on this project are expected to be completed by late July.
