Carolyn J. Fisher, 61, of
Lake Mills, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit in Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with the Rev. W. Paul Weeg and the Rev. Jim Allard, chaplain for Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Burial will take place at Salem Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, June 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 E. Main St. in Lake Mills, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Carolyn Jean (Prichard) Fisher was born Aug. 12, 1945, in Davy, W.Va., to parents Charles and Mary (Patrick) Prichard. She attended school in Davy, W. Va., and Portsmouth, Va. In February of 1962, Carolyn moved to
Iowa. Carolyn was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, Iowa.
On April 10, 1976, Carolyn was united in marriage with Mark Fisher in the chapel at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills.
Carol loved to spend her time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members and friends. Over the years, Carol worked at Fleetguard, Winnebago Industries, was an inspector at Universal Circuits for 13 years, she was a bartender, and owned Three Angels craft store. She did craft shows all over southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.
Her hobbies included crafts, making floral arrangements, doing wedding flowers, decorating her home, collecting mini tea sets, and cooking for her family and friends. Everyone was welcome at Carol&8217;s table.
She was a warm and loving person who often told it like it was.
Survivors include her children, Lynn (Blake) Stadheim of Albert Lea, Allen (Lynn) Stromley of Bondurant, Iowa, Tonya (Matt) Fails of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Kim Fisher of Mason City, Iowa; one &8220;adopted&8221; daughter Milora (Tom) Johanns of Waverly, Iowa; grandchildren, Tony Stadheim and his fianc/e Monique, of Manchester, Tyler Stadheim of Albert Lea, Joey Tounsley of Des Moines, Iowa, Justin and Brianna Stromley of Bondurant, Iowa, Brandan and Mariah Fails of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Jana (Eric) Nicholson of Mason City, Iowa; adopted granddaughters, Amanda, Erin, and Anna Johanns of Waverly, Iowa; one great-granddaughter Madelyn Nicholson of Mason City, Iowa, and two coming into the family, Jasmyn and Alyssa Barber of Manchester, and another on the way; two brothers, Jackie Prichard and William (Juanita) Prichard all of Portsmouth, Va.; mother-in-law, Ruth Fisher of Lake Mills, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Tim (Sue) Fisher of Waverly, Iowa; four sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Dennis) Brunsvold, Jeanne Robinette, and Linda Nelson, all of Mason City, Iowa, and Ellen Fisher of Des Moines, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary French; father, Charles Prichard; husband, Mark Fisher, on April 19, 2007; step-father, Lawrence French Jr.; maternal and paternal grandparents; a son, Robert Allen Stromley Jr.; brother, Lawrence French Jr.; father-in-law, Maurice Fisher; brother-in-law, Dallas Nelson; and many aunts and uncles.
