Editorial: Thanks for the letters

Have you noticed lately there has been an increase in the number of letters Albert Lea Tribune readers are writing to the newspaper?
That&8217;s a good thing. It means the community is engaging in dialogue, engaging in democracy.
The letters to the editor of any newspaper is a place of discussion, a forum to flesh out issues and discover new viewpoints. In fact, it has been said you can judge how vibrant a town is by the number of letters people write to the newspaper. The more, the better.
So good job. Keep them coming. We&8217;ll keep printing them.
Here&8217;s how to write:
&8212; Send letters to via mail to Letters, Albert Lea Tribune, P.O. Box 60, Albert Lea, MN 56007, or via e-mail to news@albertleatribune.com.
&8212; Letters must have one author. Petitions are not printed.
&8212; Letters must include address and telephone number for verification purposes. Only your name and city of residence will be published.
&8212; Each author may write one letter per calendar week.
&8212; Letters cannot exceed 500 words.
