The memorial service for Cathy Elizabeth Gregerson of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. Dan

Baker will officiate.

Interment will be in the Hayward Cemetery. Visitation with her family will be one hour prior to the service.

Cathy Elizabeth Gregerson, 50, died June 28, 2007, at Methodist Hospital, Rochester.

She was born Dec. 4, 1956, in Albert Lea to James and Doris Gregerson. She lived with cancer for 6 years. Her strong faith enabled her to endure her sufferings and look forward with hope and trust in God.

Cathy was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and The College of Saint Benedict, St. Joseph. She lived and worked in Minneapolis and Seattle before returning to Albert Lea in 2004.

Some of Cathy’s many interests were literature, poetry, writing, music, photography, art, travel, gardening, knitting, nature and all things pertaining to her Norwegian heritage.

Her passion was cooking &8212; especially Scandinavian and Italian cuisine.

The activities she enjoyed included hiking, bird watching, wildflower identification, skiing, canoeing and kayaking.

One of her favorite pastimes was sitting by a campfire.

A favorite place was Big Island in Myre Big Island State Park.

Cathy was a giving, loving, generous and compassionate person. Friendships had a high priority in her life. She loved children.

The last three years of her life were a time of enrichment for Cathy and her mother as they shared a home together. She was a blessing to her family and to all who knew her.

Cathy is preceded in death by her father: Jim Gregerson; grandparents: Andrew and Lillie Larson and Gilbert and Tillie Gregerson; and great niece: Myah Gregerson Sorenson.
