Eddie Luna, 64, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Eddie J. Luna Sr., 64, of Albert Lea, will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Church of St. Theodore. The Rev. Traufler and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary&8217;s Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Eddie died on Friday, July 13, 2007, at the Red Wing Health Center.
Eddie J. Luna was born on Jan. 1, 1943, in Mule Shoe, Texas, the son of Felix and Manuela (Gonzales) Luna. After moving to Freeborn county, he attended Albert Lea schools and was a beet farmer in Hollandale. He served in the National Guard Buddy System with his brother for a short time. Eddie resumed farming and then worked for Wilson&8217;s and later joined the 49&8217;ers and worked in heavy construction driving earth moving equipment. Eddie enjoyed being with his family and many friends. He was a member of St. Theodore&8217;s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his children, Diane (Flores) Garcia, Eddie Joe Luna Jr. and Tara Luna; five grandchildren, Johnny, Desire, Ashley, Albert and Samuel; four brothers, Ray Luna, Andy and wife Betty Luna, Bobby and wife Gladys Luna and Lucus and wife Gloria Luna; three sisters, Tomassa Serrano, Celia Ortiz and Celia and husband Eddie Roger, three half-brothers; five half sisters; his biological father, Felix Lopez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jesse, Terry and Tony.
