Kids attempt to steal $4,000 from church

Three juveniles were caught and arrested at 3:50 p.m. Saturday for attempting to steal almost $4,000 worth of items from First Lutheran Church, 301 W. Clark St., police reports stated. A witness saw kids taking items from the church and called the police. All items were recovered.

Three juveniles were caught and police are still looking for two more. Ages of the kids ranged from 14 to 17 years old.

The three apprehended will be charged but police aren&8217;t sure of the charges yet &8212; that is to be determined by the Freeborn County Attorney.

Items stolen included a plasma TV, a DVD player, a Dell computer and keyboard, two computer monitors, four microphones, a video camera, an external computer hard drive, Band-Aids, burlap bag, cowboy boots, Kool-Aid, hot chocolate and a faith candle.

The three juveniles who were apprehended were brought in for questioning and then released to their parents.

Police said this is an ongoing investigation.

Police bust two drinking parties

Police were called to a party at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at 1909 Bayview Drive, where reports said six adults were arrested for underage drinking. Four minors were cited as well. Those arrested for underage drinking include Katie Colleen Sorenson, 18, of Albert Lea; Aaron Brian Hagan, 18, of Albert Lea; Benjamin David Johnson, 19, of Albert Lea; Anton Robert Reichl, 19, of Albert Lea; Lucis Luis Cardona, 19, of Albert Lea; and Megan Marie Cunningham, 18, of Albert Lea.

At about the same time, officers were called to 2107 Stevens Road for another underage drinking party. Mark Christopher Nelson, 20, and Tiffany Grace Register, 20, both of Albert Lea were arrested for underage consumption and Tyler Jeffrey Larsen, 22, of Albert Lea was charged with providing to minors, which is a gross misdemeanor.
