C. Leigh Roberts, 87, of Neptune Beach, Fla., formerly of Albert Lea, passed away July 15, 2007.
Leigh proudly served his country in the European Theater during World War II as a member of the United States Army. Active in Kiwanis, he served as secretary of the Beaches Kiwanis Club from 2004-2007, and president of the Albert Lea Golden K Club in 1999. His other memberships include the Community Presbyterian Church of Atlantic Beach and the Beaches area American Legion. He is a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea where he sang in the choir for many years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mildred Roberts; children, Warren Roberts (Mary), Carl Roberts (Carol), and Mary Jane Roberts; brothers, William Roberts, (Irma) and Stanley Roberts (Mazie); five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Quinn-Shalz, A Family Funeral Home, 3600 Third St. S., Jacksonville Beach with the Rev. Peyton Hopkins officiating.
