Beverly Anderson, 73, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Beverly Jean Kjos Anderson, 73, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at East Freeborn Lutheran Church, rural Albert Lea. The Rev. David Hernes will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Bonnerup Funeral Service on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Beverly died Tuesday evening, July 31, 2007, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home as the result of a stroke following surgery at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Bev was born Sept. 17, 1933, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Grant and Lena (Neist) Kjos. She was baptized and confirmed at East Freeborn Lutheran Church where she was an active, lifelong member. She attended rural schools near Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1951. Bev completed a business course at Mankato Commercial College. She worked for two years in the order writing department at Wilson&8217;s Meat Packing in Albert Lea.
She married Paul G. Anderson at East Freeborn Lutheran Church on Sept. 13, 1953. Bev was
a homemaker and worked side by side with her husband on their farm. Her family and her home were the center of her life. She enjoyed caring for her lawn and flowers. During the last few years, with a little help from her family, she mowed the church and cemetery lawn, as well as a township cemetery. Bev had been a 4-H leader and served on the board of the American Dairy Association.
Beverly is survived by her husband Paul, of rural Albert Lea; a daughter Pauline (Michael) Condon, of Princeton; two sons, David (Patricia) Anderson, and Robert (Karen) Anderson both of Albert Lea; seven grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Jermstad of Brooklyn Center, Becky (Adam) Olson of Bemidji, Krystal, Danny and Dustin Anderson of Albert Lea, Paul Condon of Fargo, N.D., and Jonathan Condon of Princeton; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Jermsted of Brooklyn Center; and a great-grandson Kaden Eble of Fargo. She is also survived by aunts and uncles, Helen and Merle Hendrickson, Doris Hielman, Effie Neist, Harold Neist, and Warren Stowell; step sisters Mary Ann Flaaten, Helen Pepper and Nadine Johnson; sister-in-law, Margaret Flugum; niece Lori Flugum; and many cousins.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother Inger Kjos; grandparents Gilbert and Helena Kjos, and Chris and Minnie Neist; a daughter Elaine; an infant son Ronald; brother-in-law Duane Flugum; and aunts and uncles Esther and Chris Jensen, Clara and Clarence Jacobson, Art and Louise Neist, Florence and Hap Smith, Harvey Neist, Evelyn Neist, Eleanor and Jim Nelson, Esther and Bernhard Gardner, Clarence and Rose Kjos, Irene Stowell and Bob Heilman.
Memorials are preferred to the East Freeborn Handicap Accessibility Fund or the East Freeborn Cemetery.
