Editorial: Thanks for voting online

Where were you when you first heard or read about the Interstate 35W bridge over the Mississippi River collapsing?

AlbertLeaTribune.com asked this in the Quick Vote at the bottom of the front page of the Web site.

As of Wednesday morning, 165 voted. Out of that, 66.7 percent said they were at home; 6.1 percent were at work; 7.9 percent were in an automobile; 6.1 percent were at another person&8217;s home; 13.3 percent were elsewhere.

The bridge collapse is an event that will stay in the memories of all Minnesotans. It unites us. It will be one of those events people from Minnesota can remember where they were when they heard the news. It will be talked about for decades, debated, discussed and dissected. The photographs of the wreckage will become historical images for future generations.
